A year of travel-pt 3

Finally, in September Matt and I are going back to Europe to visit Amsterdam and Düsseldorf/Köln in Germany with friends. We've never been to any of these cities so we're really looking forward to just walking around soaking it all in! I used to live in a different part of Germany but haven't been back since 1993. Knowing how much Matt loves beer and sausage, I'm pretty sure he's gonna be in heaven:)

A year of travel-pt 2

Next on my list is a possible trip driving with my mom across the country to California in June. I was 5 the last time I went on a cross-country trip so I'm pretty excited. There's a whole section of the country that I'm totally unfamiliar with. I'd love to drive through the Badlands and the southern end of Yellowstone and see this guy:

A year of travel-pt 1

We've been spending the first couple weeks of 2011 planning our travels for the year. Matt and I have both traveled a fair amount but I am really looking forward to seeing more of the world together! So far we have our honeymoon- London, then Wales for a week followed by a week in Portugal. I can't wait to climb up these hills:

Taking advantage of the Winter darkness

I'm teaching an extra course at Marwen this term which starts today! I wanted to teach a photography course that wouldn't depend on daylight to shoot since it gets dark so early these days. The course is for middle school students so I thought it would be fun to play around with some light graffiti. I've been hording all sort of flashlights, LED lights, camping lamps and anything else that my students can use to make their photos. I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with! Here are some examples I found to get them inspired.
